Pre-Primary and Primary Registration 2023-24

Pre-Primary and Primary registration takes place January 9-13. You can come in to our school or access the registration form via the link below. If you are a current pre-primary student at NRCS, you do not need to register for primary next year.

Christmas Dinner

Our annual Christmas dinner takes place Wednesday, December 7th. Thank you Margaret and helpers for making this wonderful event happen at our school.

Re-Takes and Grad Photos

Our re-takes and grad photos will take place Wednesday, November 2nd. This is also a CLT (Early Dismissal Day). We dismiss at 12:50 pm. 

WELCOME BACK!

We are pleased to see all returning students and some new ones too.  We want to remind our families of a few important dates coming up: Thursday, September 8 is Pink Shirt Day (Anti-Bullying Day) and Thursday, September 22nd is Meet the Teacher (5:30-6:30). 

FIELD DAY & OTHER INFORMATION

Due to forecast weather, Field Day will not be held tomorrow, Friday but will take place Tuesday, June 28th. Students will still have their hotdog, juice and freezie tomorrow during regular lunch time.

Our cafeteria will be closed next week. Students will need to bring snacks and lunch on Monday and Tuesday and a snack only on the last day of school.  No school for students on Wednesday, June 29.  

Thursday, June 30th will be our last day of school and we will dismiss at 11:20 am. The grade 8 ceremony will take place in the gym on this day beginning at 9:30 am. This will be open to parents/grandparents of grade 7 and 8 students.

First day back for students after the summer break is Tuesday, September 6.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer break.

WELLNESS GROUPS

Our school wellness groups will meet up tomorrow Thursday, April 14 after recess. Please wear your special t-shirt tomorrow if you can.

WINTER CARNIVAL WEEK (March 7-11)

NRCS will be celebrating winter carnival next week. We will have theme days and activities to celebrate the week. More information will be passed along during the week but the theme days are as follows:

Monday-Sports Day (Dress up as a sports fan or player)

Tuesday-(Dress up like someone you know, admire, character or someone famous)

Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday-(Dress up in wacky clothes, wacky hair, or maybe a wacky hat)

Thursday-Wellness T-Shirt Day- (Wear your wellness group t-shirts)

Friday-PJ Day (Wear your favorite pajamas and maybe bring a stuffed animal)

Valentine's Day Guidelines

If schools decide to allow the exchange of Valentine’s Day cards, gifts or treats, we can provide the following recommendations:

Please consider that some students may not feel comfortable accepting paper cards, gifts or treats from others, and schools should support and respect this decision.

Welcome Back Students

We are very excited to see our students back at school today. We would like to remind our students to properly wear their mask and sanitize their hands.

NRCS Holiday Food Can Fundraiser

Once again, NRCS will be collecting food cans to donate to the Food Bank. Of course, before we do that, we will have our annual food can rolling competition in the gym. Each class will compete and send two representatives to our final school-wide competition on December 21st. 

If you can, please have your child bring in a food can so we can let the competitions and the kindness begin.
